For Emergencies, Dial 911
In Lehigh County and throughout most of the country, 911 is the number to call in case of a police, fire or medical emergency. For non-emergencies in Lehigh County, call 610-437-5252.
Have a First Aid Kit Ready
First aid kits cost just a few dollars and should be kept in the home and car. The American Red Cross offers suggestions for supplies to create your own first aid kit. Complete kits can also be purchased at most drug stores.
Train in CPR and First Aid
Lifesaving techniques such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic first aid can mean the difference between life and death in the first few minutes of an emergency before first responders arrive.
Many courses, some free of charge, are regularly offered to the community. Upper Saucon Ambulance offers CPR training to the public. See the Community Events page for upcoming course information.
Keep Medications and Health Records Accessible
During a medical emergency EMS personnel will need to know a patient's past medical history, current medications and any allergies to medications. It's a good idea to keep updated health information written down to give to EMS personnel during an emergency.
